You've got questions
I've got answers

And unlike most FAQ pages, these ones are actually useful.

Before we get into the "how much does a copywriter cost" and "how long does it take" of it all, let me save you some scrolling:

Yes, I probably can help.

Yes, I'll tell you if I can't.

And no, I won't make you sit through a 45-minute discovery call just to find out my prices.

Whether you're looking for website copywriting, a tone of voice guide, or just trying to figure out if hiring a copywriter is worth it, you're in the right place. And if you're still wondering whether you should just use AI for it, maybe read this first.

Now, the FAQs.

The Bit Where I Answer Your Questions

(Before you've even asked them. Efficient, no?)

  • Straight in with the money chat. Respect.

Here's the honest answer: it depends. (I know, I know. But hear me out.)

A single landing page costs less than a full website. A tone of voice guide costs less than a complete brand messaging overhaul. A one-off blog costs less than a monthly retainer.

    Rough ballpark?

    • Website copy (5-7 pages): from £2000

    • Brand Voice + Messaging guide: from £2500

    • Content package: from £950 (this really does look different for everyone).

Tell me what you need and I’ll be back with a personalised quote, pronto!

I quote per project, not per word. (Because charging by the word rewards waffle. And waffle is the enemy.)

Every project gets a clear quote upfront. No surprises or awkward invoice conversations.

Want a quote for something more specific? Get in touch and I'll come back (usually by the next working day).

  • Again, depends. (Sensing a theme?)

A standard website (5-7 pages) typically takes two weeks from kickoff to final copy.

But here's what affects the timeline:

    Things that speed it up:

    • You know what you want to get across

    • You're decisive with feedback

    • You've got your brand basics nailed

    Things that slow it down:

    • Waiting on content from your end

    • Multiple rounds of "just one more tweak"

    • Needing to figure out your brand positioning first

I'll give you a realistic timeline when I quote. Quick turnaround projects will be considered on request and will incur a fasttrack fee (if I can accommodate).

  • Glad you asked. Here's the tea:

    1. We chat

A call (or voice notes, I'm flexible) to figure out what you need, whether we're a good fit, and whether I can actually help. No charge, obligation, or sales pitch.

    2. I send your proposal

Expect a clear scope, price and timeline. You say yes (hopefully) and pay your deposit.

    3. Discovery & research

This is where I get nosy. Quiz, calls, competitor stalking, audience deep-dives. The stuff that makes your copy work harder.

    4. I write the thing

First draft lands in your inbox. You read it and tell me what you think.

    5. We refine

Up to two rounds of revisions are included. We tweak until you’re chuffed to bits.

    6. You get the final copy

Delivered in a Google Doc, ready to hand to your designer or paste into your website.

    7. We celebrate

Possibly with cake. Definitely with the satisfaction thst your brand finally sounds like you.

  • Less than you think.

    Helpful but not essential:

    • Any existing brand guidelines or messaging docs

    • Competitor websites you love (or hate)

    • Examples of writing styles you like

    • Access to your current website/content

    • Testimonials or client feedback

    The stuff I'll ask you:

    • Who you help and what problem you solve

    • What makes you different (even if you don't know yet, I’ll find it)

    • Who your dream clients are

    • What you want people to do after reading

Don't panic if you don't have all this nailed. Half my job is pulling nuggets of gold from you.

  • I'm based in Yorkshire (Huddersfield) but I work with clients all over the UK and beyond.

I'm based in Yorkshire (Huddersfield) but I work with clients all over the UK and beyond.

Everything happens remotely – calls, docs, voice notes, the occasional emoji-and-GIF-heavy WhatsApp chain.

If you're local and want to meet for a coffee, I'm up for that too. But it's absolutely not required.

  • Easy.

Drop me a message with a bit about what you need. I'll get back to you by the next working day.

We'll have a quick chat to make sure we're a good fit. If we are, I'll send you a proposal. If not, I'll point you in the right direction.

    No pressure, ever.

the process

UK Digital Website & SEO Copywriter - magnet
  • Probably.

I've written for coaches, consultants, creatives, service businesses, wellness brands, tech companies, e-commerce, entertainment, hospitality, and retail.

The list goes on, but I don’t want to bore you before we’ve even met!

The common thread? Businesses run by people who give a sh*t about what they do and want their words to reflect that.

If you're selling something dodgy, unethical, or boring on purpose, we're probably not a match. Everyone else? Let's chat.

  • Oh, you want the nerdy answer? Fine.

    Copywriting = words that sell.

Website copy, landing pages, sales pages, ads, email sequences. The stuff that gets people to do something.

Content writing = words that inform, educate, or entertain.

Blog posts, articles, newsletters, thought leadership. The stuff that builds trust over time.

Brand voice / tone of voice = the rules for how your brand sounds. The personality guidelines that make everything consistent.

I do all three. Because honestly? They work best together.

  • You absolutely can write it yourself.

    But here's what usually happens:

    • You stare at a blank page for three hours

    • You write something, hate it, delete it

    • You write it again, still hate it, keep it anyway

    • It sits in your drafts for six months

    • You launch it eventually, cringing slightly

    • It doesn't convert because it sounds like everyone else

    Sound familiar?

    Here's what I bring:

    • Fresh eyes (I'm not stuck in your head)

    • Experience knowing what actually works

    • The ability to articulate what makes you brilliant (even when you can't see it yourself)

    • Speed (because it's literally my job)

    • Copy that sounds like you, but better

You could spend weeks wrestling with your own words.

Or you could hand it to someone who genuinely loves this stuff and get it done properly.

    Your call.

  • It's basically a rulebook for how your brand sounds.

A good tone of voice AKA brand voice and messaging guide includes:

    • Your brand personality (are you warm? Bold? Cheeky? All three?)

    • Your key messages and positioning

    • Words and phrases to use (and to avoid)

    • Grammar and style preferences

    • Examples of your voice in action

    Why does this matter?

Because without it, your website sounds different to your emails, which sound different to your social posts, which sound different to your proposals. And that inconsistency? It makes people trust you less.

A tone of voice guide means anyone writing for your brand – you, your VA, your social media person, future you who's forgotten what you decided – can nail your voice every time.

  • Yes. But not in a gross, keyword-stuffing, "we've mentioned Yorkshire 47 times" kind of way.

Yes. But not in a gross, keyword-stuffing, "we've mentioned Yorkshire 47 times" kind of way.

I write for humans first. Copy that sounds natural, connects emotionally, and actually gets read. Then I make sure Google can find it too.

    That means:

    • Strategic keyword use (where it makes sense)

    • Headlines and meta descriptions that work

    • Structure that's easy to read and skim

    • Content that actually answers what people are searching for

If you want copy that ranks AND converts? That's my happy place.

  • Then we fix it.

Every project includes up to two rounds of revisions. That means you're never stuck with something you're not happy with.

Here's the thing though: I've never had a client hate their first draft. (Touches wood, throws salt, crosses fingers.)

Why? Because I do the research properly. I listen. I ask the right questions. And I send you work that's already 80% there.

    Tweaks happen. Major rewrites? Rarely.

  • Yes.

Blogs: Yep. Individual posts or ongoing retainers. Great for SEO, thought leadership, and actually having something to share.

Social media: I can help with your bio, a content strategy, captions, and graphics if you need those too.

Emails: Love them. Welcome sequences, launch sequences, newsletters, sales emails. Words that land in inboxes and actually get read.
